G6 Filling is the industry workhorse for general earthworks. It is an engineered natural gravel that is slightly less refined than G5 but still offers excellent compaction properties. It is the perfect middle-ground between cheap “Normal Filling” and premium “G5.”

Common Questions:

What is the difference between G5 and G6? G5 is higher quality with stricter grading standards (more stone, less clay). It is used for roads and heavy-duty driveways. G6 is slightly lower quality (might vary slightly more). It is perfect for house foundations and standard driveways.
Can I use G6 for my driveway? For a standard residential driveway (cars only), Yes, G6 is usually sufficient. If you plan to drive heavy delivery trucks or construction vehicles on it, we recommend spending the extra money on G5.
How do I compact it? Spread it in layers no thicker than 150mm. Water it well, then use a “Whacker” (plate compactor) or a pedestrian roller until it creates a hard, solid surface.
