When you need structural strength, you need Concrete Mix 19mm. This is the classic “Builders Blend” used for the vast majority of construction projects in South Africa. We pre-mix sharp Washed River Sand with 19mm Crushed Stone, saving you the hassle of ordering separate loads.

Why Choose 19mm Mix?

Maximum Strength: The larger 19mm stone provides the aggregate interlock needed for high-load areas. It is the correct choice for any load-bearing structure.
Economical: It creates a bulky, solid concrete that goes further for deep pours than finer mixes.

Mixing Guide:

Just Add Cement: This is a sand/stone blend only. You must add water and cement.
Standard Ratio: For a strong 25-30Mpa concrete, a common site mix is approx 2 to 2.5 bags of cement per cubic meter (always consult your structural engineer’s specifications).

Common Questions:

Should I use 13mm or 19mm Mix? Use 19mm for heavy work: Foundations, driveways, and thick slabs (stronger). Use 13mm for fine work: Lintels, thin walkways, or where you need a very smooth finish.
Is this “Premix” concrete? In the building trade, “Premix” usually refers to Ready-Mix (wet concrete delivered in a truck). This product is a dry blend of sand and stone. You mix it yourself.
How much concrete does 1 cube make? Once you add water and cement and compact it, 1 cubic meter of loose mix will yield slightly less than 1 cubic meter of finished concrete (due to air pockets being removed). We recommend ordering 10% extra to be safe.
