How much do I need? For a standard plastic ‘shell’ sandpit, you typically need about 2 to 3 wheelbarrows (approx. 0.4m³). However, purchasing a full cubic meter from us is often cheaper than buying individual bags from a store. You can easily use the excess sand to improve drainage in flower beds or top-dress your lawn.

Common Questions

• Is this just River Sand? No. River Sand is coarser and often contains small pebbles. Playpen Sand is a silica-based sand that is finer, whiter, and has been washed more thoroughly.
• Will it stain clothes? It is far cleaner than red building sand (which stains everything orange!). However, like any wet sand, it can be muddy if mixed with soil. If kept clean in a box, it usually brushes right off dry clothes.
• Can you deliver small amounts? We specialize in bulk delivery. If you just need one bag, a hardware store might be better. But if you need to fill a decent-sized built-in sandpit, horse arena, or court, our bulk delivery is much cheaper than buying 20 small bags!
